But, the truth is that this great attraction for the whole family is actually located in our very own city of Vaughan. You could also spend some time at one of the best collections of 20th century Canadian art in the country at the McMichael Canadian Art Collection or go back in time for the day in the Village of Kleinburg.
When many people think of entertainment they think of some of the many performing art forms that are alive and well throughout Canada. Vaughan is home to the City Playhouse, where you can see everything from a Broadway quality musical to a Canadian play. There are also many festivals and events held throughout the year that have an arts focus. An example of this is the Concerts in the Park series that takes place on Tuesday evenings throughout the summer months.
From skating in the wintertime to swimming in the summer, there are all sorts of great outdoor activities that you can participate in throughout Vaughan if you’re looking for some active fun. There are water playgrounds at over a dozen community parks for those summer months when your children need a place to cool down and places like the Sports Village where you can participate in many different activities. The city is also home to sections of the Don and Humber Rivers and has more than seven hundred acres of conservation land.
A day of doing one of your favorite things can be the perfect cure for all of the stresses in your life. If you’re someone who likes to relax on the golf course than you have at least nine full courses to choose from within the city limits of Vaughan. Or, if you’re more the type of person to take out your credit card and spend a few hours shopping in your favorite stores than you might just find heaven in the Vaughan Mills Mall. This is more than one million square feet of retail therapy with two hundred stores and several themed restaurants. It is located just down the street from Canada’s Wonderland. So you might even be able to drop the kids off for the afternoon and then go and have your own fun. Anything is possible when it comes to entertainment in Vaughan.
